How Does Your Child Learn?
See, Hear, Do, Feel …
- Your child learns by Seeing, Hearing, Doing, and Feeling. You will notice that at The Little Gym, we do our best to accommodate all of these learning modes in our instruction:
- Seeing- We try to demonstrate each skill we present-we even ask you to demonstrate as you are willing and able! We also use a lot of visual aids in our teaching to help reinforce the teacher's instruction to facilitate learning. Example, we are using tape marks on the cheese as visual aids to show feet and hand placement.
- Hearing- We use our own music in our instuction. We also do our best to explain each skill in terms that your child can understand
- Doing- This means actually doing the skills - whether here at the gym, or in your living room! of course, we give each child the opportunity and free dom to a lot of "Doing" in every class!
- Felling- This means internalizing the skill and developing sound movement patterns through practice. Each week we review previously learned skills. Repetition is important at this age.
